On July 8, in Uzhhorod, a man fell from a third-floor window of the district territorial center of recruitment and social support building. He sustained severe injuries and later died in the hospital. The police opened criminal proceedings and are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
This was reported by the Main Department of the National Police in Zakarpattia Oblast.
The incident occurred on July 8. The man was hospitalized with polytrauma in a medical facility in Uzhhorod. Despite doctors’ efforts, he passed away.
Regarding the fatality, law enforcement opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (premeditated murder).
Within the pre-trial investigation, they commissioned the necessary forensic examinations and are continuing to determine all circumstances of the incident.
As a reminder, last year in Lviv, volunteer Maksym Muzychko died after spending more than two weeks in intensive care following mobilization.
His family suspects that skull fractures and other injuries were caused by beatings, but the TCC and SP denies this. The recruitment center maintains that the man fell from a vehicle en route to a military training ground, while police reports simultaneously described this as having “fallen” and “jumped.”
Ultimately, the criminal case regarding Muzychko's death was opened under the article for “negligent grievous or moderate bodily injury.”
Throughout the full-scale Russian invasion, numerous reports of human rights violations in TCC and SP facilities have appeared in the media. These concern forcible detentions, beatings, and deaths, the causes of which sometimes contradict official statements from recruitment center leadership. A special parliamentary commission also uncovered numerous violations in recruitment center operations, the findings of which were presented last year.
On September 5, 2026, it became known that law enforcement agencies officially closed the criminal proceedings into the conscript’s death following the fall from the Uzhhorod District TCC window due to the “absence of a crime.”
