Oleksandr Revutskyi, a 50-year-old resident of the Pulyny community, died on 3 January 2026 after being at the TCC. Further details about the military medical examination, summons, and the circumstances of his health deterioration in open sources mostly come from statements by police and the Zhytomyr regional TCC and SP.

Chronology

  • 02.01.2026 - according to the Zhytomyr regional TCC and SP, during a document check law enforcement officers brought Oleksandr Revutskyi to the sixth department of the Zhytomyr district TCC and SP in Pulyny as a person wanted for violating military registration rules.
  • The TCC statement claims that after administrative materials were processed, he was sent for a military medical examination, which found him fit for military service.
  • According to the TCC, after the medical examination, Oleksandr Revutskyi was assigned to a team at the Zhytomyr district TCC and SP and waited for an interview with representatives of one military unit.
  • 03.01.2026, around 11:00 - according to the TCC, he became unwell and developed a nosebleed. An ambulance was called; medics provided first aid without hospitalization. The TCC stated that inpatient treatment was not required according to doctors, and that the man refused hospitalization.
  • According to the TCC, after that Oleksandr Revutskyi was escorted back to the sixth department in Pulyny, where he received a summons for 05.01.2026, which he received and signed.
  • 03.01.2026, around 15:20 - he left the sixth department premises. The TCC stated that this was confirmed by surveillance camera recordings.
  • According to the TCC, shortly afterward, outside the department territory, he suddenly became unwell, lost consciousness, and fell; the TCC also stated that the fall was captured on video and servicemen immediately called an ambulance and police.
  • Medics performed resuscitation, but the man could not be saved. His death was pronounced.

Investigation

Police reported that on 3 January at around 15:45, the 102 emergency line received a report that a man had been found on a street in the settlement and had died before the ambulance arrived. During examination of the body, law enforcement officers found traces of blood on the deceased man's face; the body was sent for forensic examination to establish the cause of death.

Investigators entered the information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations and said they were establishing all circumstances, reviewing surveillance camera footage, and questioning witnesses and eyewitnesses. The Zhytomyr regional TCC and SP reported that an internal service investigation had been ordered.

Police separately stated that they did not confirm claims about several similar deaths of draft-age men in Pulyny during the previous month: according to police, no other reports of injuries or deaths of such men had been received during that period. At the same time, police reported a separate episode on 25.11.2025: a 55-year-old local resident was found near a bus stop in Pulyny in a state of severe alcohol intoxication with a head injury; during questioning, he said he had fallen by himself.
