Circumstances of the incident

Kostiantyn Antonov, 47, disappeared from a military unit near the village of Honcharivske in Chernihiv region, home to the large training ground of the 242nd Training Center, in September 2023.

He was later found dead with signs of violence.

Context: the Honcharivske training ground is known for a series of incidents. In June 2023, a reserve junior sergeant born in 1976 was found hanged there on the first day after being called up for training. In 2025, a cadet also shot military instructors at the same training ground.
