Chronology

  • 17.06.2025 - Yaroslav Kapushchak, a resident of the village of Horokholyno in Ivano-Frankivsk district, was detained by the Nadvirna RTC and SP.
  • 20.06.2025 - he sustained a traumatic brain injury while being held at the TCC. Relatives and human rights defenders linked the injury to the actions of TCC personnel.
  • 20.06-09.08.2025 - he remained in a coma for 7 weeks.
  • 09.08.2025 - he died in hospital without regaining consciousness.

Circumstances of the incident

Yaroslav Kapushchak never reached the front. Because of the traumatic brain injury he suffered on the third day after being detained by the TCC, he fell into a coma and died 7 weeks later.
