Chronology

  • 22.07.2025 - Roman Pivtoratskyi was detained near the entrance to his apartment building in Zaporizhzhia. According to journalists, he was taken to a district TCC because he did not have military registration documents with him.
  • 23.07.2025 - Roman was already in a military unit in Dnipropetrovsk region, where he was supposed to undergo basic military training. He died the same day.
  • 29.07.2025 - his wife, Yuliia Balabukh, received a written notice of his death. Before that, she had been told for several days that the records had not yet been updated.

Circumstances

His wife and relatives said they saw multiple signs of beating on the body:

  • A black eye
  • Bruises on the face
  • Bruises on the ribs and torso
  • A smashed back of the head, with blood visible on the back of his head

The family rejects the official cause of death and believes Roman died after being beaten.
