Chronology

  • 21.08.2025 - during a document check in the village of Horodets, Sarny district, it was found that 34-year-old Vitaliy Sakharuk had failed to appear on a summons dated 27.01.2025. He agreed to go to the district TCC. An administrative offense report was drawn up and he was referred to the medical board.
  • 21-23.08.2025 - according to his mother, he was held inside the district TCC building for three days.
  • 23.08.2025 - the family learned that Vitaliy had died. No one from the TCC informed them of his death.

Circumstances of the incident

The deceased man's mother, Nina Sakharuk, says his body was covered in bruises. Photos published online appear to show signs of beating on his body.

The TCC claimed that he died of "heart failure" and that "there were no signs of violent death." Prosecutors, however, said the cause of death was brain coma and a right-sided non-traumatic subdural hemorrhage, which contradicts the heart-failure version and points to possible head trauma.

Family's version

Investigation status
