Chronology

  • ~2023 - Vladyslav began to be prosecuted for draft evasion.
  • Sentence - he was convicted as a draft evader and sentenced to 3 years in prison.
  • May 2024 - he was transferred to the Drohobych correctional colony in Lviv region. Before that he had been held in the Lutsk pre-trial detention center.
  • ~Early August 2024 - in less than two weeks, Vladyslav was brought to intensive care unconscious and beaten.
  • 17.08.2024 - Vladyslav Tsisar died.

Circumstances of the incident

His mother, Lidiia Tsisar, says her son was brutally beaten in the Drohobych colony:

"He was in the Lutsk detention center for almost a week, then in a colony in Lviv region. From there they brought him to intensive care already almost dead and beaten. They threw him down in handcuffs like a dog."

Vladyslav had previously told relatives that he had suffered from tuberculosis for a long time in childhood and had documentation from a TB clinic, yet the medical board declared him fit for service.
