In January 2026 a man died in Kyiv after mobilization measures. While still alive he linked rib fractures and a chest injury to the actions of the police and the recruitment center.

This is not Kyiv resident N. from the 7–8 May 2025 card. That man was beaten on the way to the assembly point, pronounced dead the same day, and has a forensic conclusion. Here Lubinets describes a January 2026 hospitalization, death a few days later, and a body returned to the family without an autopsy.

Chronology

  • January 2026 — he was hospitalized with rib fractures and chest trauma. He died a few days later.
  • 11–12.06.2026 — ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets and Ukrinform said prosecutors were investigating the police, the recruitment center and medics. These reports say there was no mandatory autopsy.
