Chronology
- ~05.05.2024, night - according to his mother, Tetiana Zaitseva, her son was taken from his bed at night without documents. He was held by armed TCC employees.
- 05.05.2024 - according to another version, he came to the Saksahanskyi district TCC after receiving a summons. He underwent the medical board.
- 05.05.2024 - he became ill on TCC premises. An ambulance was called. Patrol police pronounced biological death.
TCC version
- He died from a "sudden sharp deterioration in health accompanied by signs of an epileptic seizure."
- There were no signs of physical assault.
- Pre-medical assistance was provided before the ambulance arrived.
Family's version
His sister Oksana Rubekina, who attended the identification, said:
- she saw the body with numerous bruises and signs of beating.
His mother Tetiana Zaitseva also said:
- her son had never had epileptic seizures;
- according to her, he was taken away at night without documents;
- according to her, he was sent to the Saksahanskyi TCC even though he was registered in another district.
Suspicious circumstances
According to the autopsy:
- toxic effects of an unknown substance were found;
- in the groin area there were puncture marks resembling injections.
Investigation status
- The Kryvyi Rih specialized prosecutor's office in the defense sphere of the Eastern Region opened proceedings over abuse of official authority, that is, possible TCC involvement in the death.
- December 2025 - the proceedings were closed, with no TCC involvement established.
- February 2026 - a court in Kryvyi Rih considered a complaint against the closure of the case.
